Hi girls! I have personally missed out on the last few meetings. But I would love to fix that and invite you to a sew day at my new fabric shop!
Although it isn't truly open yet, I would love to share the evening passing the time together, doingone of the things that we love doing the best! Sewing of course. Feel free to bring your UFO's (which I do have a few of) or we can work on the patriotic wonky star blocks.

My shop is still a little sparce, but it is air conditioned. So no worries about going out on a hot summer evening. And the Lincoln Farmer's Market is going on from 5-8 p.m. that same evening, which is right across the street from Sew Katie Jean.
Thursday, July 6th
6 p.m. - 8 p.m.
603 5th Street, Lincoln
Please call if you need directions! I hope to see you there.

We had our may meeting yesterday. It was so wonderful to see some regular faces and some new ones too.
We shared our doll quilts challenges and decided we just like a challenge rather than a contest.
So for next month's challenge, just bring your Kona challenge quilts, don't worry about an entrance fee. It is a challenge not a contest anymore. After our Kona Challenge we will take a couple months break from challenges. All of us at the meeting felt like we had too many going on and we need a break.
Especially check out Jennifer B.'s first quilt top finish! Congrats Jennifer!
We also have our first community service quilt finished.
We will be updating the community service section of the website shortly.
One of our new members, Dorie, volunteered to piece together the top for our January Challenge. Thanks Dorie! If you still have blocks out there for that challenge, bring them with you next time as we will add them to the back.
Also we are in need of some donations for our community service quilts:
-pink yardage/large scraps for the back of the January challenge quilt
- Large scraps of red, white, blue and cream fabric for the backs of the wonky star quilts
- reds, whites, and creams fabric scraps or squares for wonky stars
- batting for both the wonky star quilts and the January Challenge quilt
- fabric for binding for both too
The last thing we talked about is updating our great tutorial part of the forums, well and just making sure we talk on the forums. When we picked a website provider that was something we decided was important, but not much is happening over there. I have been bad about it too, but let's make this website fun to visit, where we can all share idea and enjoy modern quilting together! Remember this is your website too. You can post to the forums and post to the blog. If you post to the blog email me on here so I can approve it and make your post live.
Once again another great meeting. I hope to see you all at next month's meeting!
