Hey all ,
I know I'm busy with all my to do lists today, how about you? We are about 4 days away from Quilt Con 2016 in Pasadena and the pressure is on! I spent last night prepping my fabrics, double checking my supply lists, and playing mental tetris about how I can fit all my supplies in a suitcase and still have room for more shopping. Today is all about finishing up my real life "to do" list so I can jet off to Pasadena guilt free (and laundry. Because clothes are required and I want to allowed back to Quilt Con in 2018.)
Did you know QuiltCon has a mobile app to help you stay connected while you are there? It's true! You should have received and email this last week. This app is for attendees only and you will need your registration code to log in.
Don't forget to use social media while you are there! The use of social media is how the Modern Quilt Guild was founded and the best way to stay connected with your guild mates. So post your pictures to our members only chat page on Facebook, use the hashtag #sacmqg #quiltcon2016 on twitter and instagram, or follow along with me on Instagram @sacmqg or @weenchaweena.
If you attending Quilt Con you should have received an email with the list of attendees for our guild. If you didn't receive this info please email us at [email protected] We are organizing a dinner/meet up but we are not publicly publishing this info.
I'll let you get back to your packing and scheming now. Just remember, quilting supplies like scissors and rotary cutters need to be packed in your checked baggage, not your carry on. Can you imagine having a TSA agent confiscate your beloved Ginghers??? It would be quilt anarchy.
Also, think about packing a few USPS flate rate envelopes in your suitcase! I know I'm going to do some shopping and I would rather pay $6 to mail things back to myself then a baggage charge if my suitcase gets over the limit.
See you in Pasadena!
